Why did Jared Jarnagin start Spectrum Building Products?
Spectrum Building Products was started because builders were spending more time on the phone with suppliers than on the job site. Jared Jarnagin founded the company in 2016 to put the take-off, the pricing, the billing and the delivery checks behind one person.
Jared watched builders across East Tennessee lose days to material problems. A typical project meant five, six, sometimes ten vendor relationships, and every one of them came with its own rep, its own pricing structure and its own invoice. Materials showed up late. Orders came in wrong. Wasted time meant wasted money, and nobody was solving it.
After serving in the U.S. military, Jared brought the same discipline to the building materials business. The model he built is plain: pull a full material take-off from the builder's plans, search the vendor market for the best price on every line, consolidate everything into one salesman and one bill, then show up on the job site to make sure it all arrives correctly and on time.
He does not run it from behind a desk. Jared pulls the take-offs himself, calls the vendors himself, and is on site to verify deliveries and solve problems as they happen.
